We have some good news

Published 04.03.2026

This is Arctida, and we will continue our work πŸ’™

On February 16, the Russian authorities designated our activities as β€œundesirable” in the country. At the same time, we have never had any branches or projects in Russia.

We do not agree with the position of the Russian authorities. Independent monitoring of what is happening in the Arctic is especially important today.

We will continue to:

  • investigate corruption and violations in the Russian Arctic,
  • highlight the environmental and social problems of Arctic regions that are ignored by the authorities and corporations, and
  • publish reports on the situation of Indigenous peoples.

We do not accept the future for the Arctic that the state is trying to impose. We will continue to fight for a sustainable Arctic, where the rights of Indigenous peoples come first and climate risks are taken into account.

Unfortunately, for safety reasons, if you are in Russia or planning to travel there, we ask you not to repost or give links to our materials. This also applies to reposts and links made before February 16. You may continue reading our website and social media without additional risk.

We are also opening several vacancies to expand our team (Russian on the native level is required):

  • Social Media Manager,
  • PR Specialist,
  • Lead Analyst,
  • Climate and Energy Analyst.

Please note that these positions are intended for people living outside Russia who understand the possible risks associated with working with an organization deemed β€œundesirable” by the Russian authorities. More details are available at the link, where you will also find information on how to apply.

We are also looking for freelance contributors for specific tasks. If you are a designer (with experience in infographics) or a translator (from Russian into English), please send your CV and portfolio to [email protected]. Please indicate your specialization in the subject line. These positions are also intended only for those living outside Russia.

Thank you for staying with us and supporting us. We will soon begin publishing new reports and investigations.
